*SUICIDE*
Is a child selfish for not wanting his/her dad to commit suicide?

-- answer removed --

Is this another self-pitying post? you really do need to take charge of your life and not let it run you. I have nothing against you whatsoever, would just like to see you regain control and lose all the ansgt, and wish you luck in doing so.
Sometimes.
There are very few ways of ending it which do not have an awful impact on those involved. And generally the living do not necessarily wish the dead have lived(that's not to say they wished they had died) they feel guilt, hopelessness and confusion and "why?".
You really need to sort your life out Nailit.
Get a grip!
Yes I had a friend who committed suicide years ago and still today I keep asking myself why. It haunts me. I know she was depressed, but did not think it would have come to that.

IMO, yep it'd be very selfish, not something I've thought about but know I have too many close friends and family that'd be upset.

Your actual question, no I don't think that is selfish to miss someone as we've all lost loved ones or friends at sometime and would love for them to be about.
I don't think its selfish because when you get to the point of suicide, its either gone beyond the point where you are able to think about the effect it will have on others or thinking about it and what a horrible person it makes you just makes you feel worse and more suicidal. I have no first hand experience but have heard both things said by people whose genuine suicide attempts failed. The next day after telling us what a dreadful person she was and how awful she was because she had tried to commit suicide, she did it again and succeeded.
For me selfishness is knowing what effect your behaviour will have on someone you love and not caring, not being unable to care.
Suicidal people do not think of the consequences of their actions. All the 'What if's' have gone.
How can you know that, Tilly?
My 21 year old foster brother committed suicide, he had lived with us since he was 12.
We had know idea he felt that way but knowing what he had been through I am not surprised that is the route he took.
I mourned him but was thankful he was a peace, however had I found out after the event he had been going on Social media sites talking about suicide several times and asking questions - I would be well and truly peeved off.
I don't know it, Talbot , It's my opinion. I can see no other option. If you thought of the consequences then you wouldn't do it, surely?
People who do it and take their children with them have thought out the consequences.
Obviously, some people would ... regardless of the consequences.

For some, (not all) it is the easy and cowardly way out.
Anyway, this is depressing. I'm off.
It is Tilly and upsetting to those who have been badly affected by suicide to see it stuck in LP.

Yes, I know I didn't have to look.
In such a situation I don't believe descriptions, such as selish, apply.
