Yes it's selfish, especilly since those who are left to wonder what was going on in the head of the dead person aren't allowed to voice their opinion in polite company even though they're the ones having to deal with it. They just have to mouth the usual stuff to keep the peace.
And especially when the parents are still alive. Possibly THE most selfish thing a person can do.
SELFISH apply

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OV, just as an aside, you don’t need to constantly correct yourself. We can work out what you mean.

especilly(sic) when it's as obvious as this
That's hardly the concern. The concetn is that it's wrong and there's no way to correct it, which is unreasonable.

There is one really good way of sorting it, read your post before entering it.

Yep ... no need to correct OV, Zacs
(Bangs head on wall) sorry, Nailit.
I wondered if OV sorry, OG, would correct it ;-)
Lets hope that bit of banter has put a smile on Nailits' face.
It’s a very complicated subject and depends on the persons last thoughts I suppose. When you’re in a dark depression place filled with pain sometimes they think that they’re actually helping those around them that they think they were burdening, others see it as a big f*** you to those they’ve hated not thinking about those that would miss them.

I saw a YouTube video of golden gate jumpers who immediately regretted jumping but survived and as they let go thought W.TF HAve I done.

Life’s full of dips and lows and I feel sad at those who have felt the need to lull themselves as no doubt things would have got better at some point.

no it's not selfish, depression is a hideous horrible thing and can be completely and totally overwhelming. My niece committed suicide and whilst I'd prefer she was around still, I understand why and don't think her selfish at all, her life was a constant battle and she was in so much pain she just wanted it to stop. I just wish she didn't have to die in such a horribly painful way.
I feel it is, it depression is scary.. if you are noticing the signs seek help! It can cause you to become distant with your loved ones
