I would get that checked out yrneh.
have you tried antihistamine? Showering so often and using so much detergent won't be helping either. Have you got any redness or rash or anything?
Try giving up gels and other wash-potions entirely and switch to ordinary bar soap. Then apply petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline) and rub into the skin wherever it itches. I would suggest you also change wash powders for clothing in favour of Lux or some very mild detergent indeed - put clothing not yet used through a soap free cycle to rinse out residues of previous materials. Do not (I repeat, not) use fabric softener. Best of luck.
I would suggest you're washing too much. You're washing away your natural oils. If you really feel you need to shower twice a day just use warm water for the second shower.

ta for info
i have no redness or ashes
just had shower still itchy and tingling
It could be your age ,as we get older the skin gets drier and causes itching. If this is the case your doctor will prescribe Double Base cream.I am 83 and it works a treat for me.
Excess washing/dry skin occurred to me also. Ensure cooler showers.

But I admit that as I aged I found that I had more itchy periods too. (I wonder why, when one finally succumbs to scratching one itch, another part of the body decides that it's it's turn next :-( )
Yes, showering too much....and don't use anything that foams to wash/shower....you're simply making your skin drier and drier, and it WILL itch.
It wouldn't hurt to get your liver function tested.
Agree liver function first, generally then if you need to shower , cool and gentle. I use sanex atopicare as it is ultra moisturizing and Aveeno skin lotion. Moisture is important, if nothing else it reduces the damage from scratching, try running an extra rinse cycle when washing clothes. Use a washcloth rather than a bathpuff thing as they can damage skin.

ta for nice info
got some cereban lotion from doc yesterday
not working at the moment
i will give it a few days
Try taking one a day antihistamine tablet for a few days and see if this helps. Also review if you have changed laundry products. Get some epsom salts and throw a couple of handfuls in a warm, not hot bath and soak, dab yourself dry on a clean towel but don't rub.
