I have been awakened the past few nights by painful ache in my back, just the one spot. Left hand side about half way mark. I take painkillers so I can get back to sleep but they don't always work. Once I get up, it eases off. At the moment I am having treatment to find cause of nausea and I have gastric erosion. I am taking omaprazole. Could there be a connection?

There could be a connection, but unlikely and i cannot think of a connection that comes directly to mind.
I would like to mention that taking painkillers on an empty stomach can cause nausea and gastric irritation.

I think I have worked this out. I had an endoscopy last week and the area where I have the aches matches the area the tube went down my nose into my stomach. 6 biopsies were taken and the camera had a good look around, so I think the instrument must have bruised me. Sounds likely?
