I’ve always had normal periods, rarely any pain. Till this last week. I was in the lounge when I felt I was wetting myself so I thought god how embarassing and ran to the loo. But it wasn’t wee - it was blood/clots, literally like I was going for a wee. I was shocked. Couldn’t move once I’d sat down but when I did well, took a while to clear up is all I’ll say. And horrendous lower pelvic pain. Finally eased off and all was ok till that evening - then the same again! Couldn’t leave the house as I was going thru all my clothing. And now same again today.
I’ve spoken to a couple of friends roughly my age and none of them have ever had this. I’ve not been thru the menopause but I know you can at anytime really from late 30’s to whenever. Is this the peri menopause or is something medically wrong? I can’t sit on a chair without covering it in several towels etc.... TIA x

I know it's kind of 'out there' as a suggestion but here goes.

You might want to phone a doctor.
This cannot be normal - get to your GP pronto.
Get it checked out. Could be polyps.
A miscarriage?

I would make a doctors appointment, just to be on the safe side.
I would ring your GP asap.
jazzygen........that was my first thought.

Now snowball tends to be dramatic on most medical issues, but after saying that, it could be many things none of which are particularly life threatening. Messy, uncomfortable but not particularly unusual.
Monitor the situation for the next week or so and if there is no improvement or the bleeding gets worth....then see you GP.
Doctor now. Could be fibroids, miscarriage or many other things. If you cannot get appointment today thenA and E or emergency clinic

Ok am ringing doctor now.
Did you you not mention this to your doctor when you went about your broken nose and finger?
^^ ;-).
RR - when did smow break her nose and finger? I must have missed the post.
She mentioned it on the good morning thread on Sunday before she went to the shard
hmm well I thought this was normal in us ladies of a certain age to have changes in menstruation in the run up to menopause, I have had some very heavy periods since I was 40, normally lots of little clots and "flows" and the need to change pads almost hourly in the first 2/3 days
Is this not the norm then?
Excellent post by Purist ^^^
I don't think there is a norm.
I have certainly had a few like that purists

Lol@sqad. What do you mean? ;)
RR fingers are broken but nose just has a hairline fracture and hasnt moved at all so no need to do anything thank god, it’s just swollen but will go down.
(Thought doctor had enough with me that day without this!)
You definitely need go see a doctor......
It could be a delayed reaction to learning that your ex husband had been shot and was having emergency heart surgery. Emotion plays a major part in hormonal control of menstruation. ;-)
Is miscarriage a possibility ?
