For the past few days Ive had a 'strangling' sensation lower right side. Painful to press on and seems to spread across my abdomen, below belly button. Hurts slightly when walking. My job involves lifting heavy crates all day long (between 20-30 kg), havnt been able to do it. Appetite not what it was, slight constipation. No nausea, vomiting or anything indicating appendicitus.
Will try to get in to see my GP in the morning (wish me luck with that) but in the meantime any idea what it could be? I feel fine now that Im home and relaxed but work has been exhausting trying to cope with the sensation that my insides are 'tangled'...

Taken no Ibuprofen but have monitered the situation...and it still hurts!
(wish Sqad was about)
Thanks.

Have you had your appendix removed? If not, appendicitis is a possibility too.
IBS pain is similar to appendicitis but it comes on the left side of the abdomen.

Still got my appendix but not really got symptoms of appendicitis, no nausea, vomiting etc.
Managed to get GP appointment at 3 oclock this afternoon. See what he/she says.
Thanks for all replies.
IBS pain comes in the whole abdominal area..upper, mid and lower.
Yes, it does, Vagus. I can vouch for that.
I have had IBS for many years and have only experienced pain which affected the left side of the abdomen.Obviously not everyone suffers the same.

None the wiser now...
Just seen a GP. He's been very thorough (in there over 20 minutes).
Seems to think its SOMETHING to do with my appendix but not sure what, maybe bacterial infection. Got go for some blood tests and drop a stool sample of for tests and go from there. (just HOW do you drop one in such a small container??)
He seems to have ruled out a hernia, pulled muscle and IBS.
Ah, the complexities of the human anatomy eh?
a thorough going over can be a good thing.
Hope an answer is found soon xx

oh, and how to drop one - very carefully lol x

If there is no spatula with the container use something as clean as possible in the home to transfer a small amount.

Try the day before and label it carefully.

No, I really am a difficult patient Mamy...
Absolutely hate going to the doctors, hospital or anywhere medical.
Wont go unless absolutely necessary. Have put this off all week.
You'll feel easier once checked out - PS, I'm a pretty lousy patient myself.
