Try working for the NHS then you would really be fed up with it! Finally had 2 days out of full PPE this week then ended up back in it again, least it stops me eating too much chocolate ....

Yes , forever, we have to just live with it now
Funny how its stopped us all doing the things we shouldn't be doing, bought many back down to earth I say.
^Got to wonder what he got up to before Covid.
Like sitting on a river bank eating cut price ham from Marksies and wondering through Debenhams on a Saturday morning sighhhhh, oh for those days again :0)))
22.41 B/S. Almost like sitting on a river bank watching The fog going past , while downing a bottle of Newcastle Brown.

Much classier , grey goose £39 a bottle and the Tyne is a lovely river now
Don't mind if I do:0))

The hassle will only stop when the governments stop trying to play King Canute, and a panicking public stops demanding they continue as if is were the right thing to do.
But that's the way of the world just now, OG. People have got to have something to be scared of, or worried about so they can post about it on tinternet. People should stop being lilly-livered and hypochondriacs and just get back to normal, ie, not complaining as much!

Tell that to the thousands of people who have lost members of their families and friends.
In the midst of life, we are in death. Life goes on. You sound just like the sort of person I'm talking about, Danny.
^^^Completely agree.

There was a poster yesterday who stated "I agree regarding vulnerable people, but I don't think we should allow everyone else to be at risk."

Ignoring the fact I'm part of the "everyone else" to which he refers and I don't feel even slightly at risk (because o matter how the statistics get spun, it is a tiny risk. It just is) how are we meant to keep "everyone else" from risk?

He didn't answer this question, but the answer is, we can't, and nor should we try; it's here to stay for the foreseeable and therefore we just need to crack on with our normal lives. Normal normal, not this stupid new normal that people talk about.

Of course there will be Covphobics (there's some on this site), and that's fine, they can continue to be scared - but there's really no need to be.
My "Completely agree" was to Old Geezer.
DD //Of course there will be Covphobics //
better that than being a Covidiot.
If going about my normal business, as far as I can*, makes me a Covidiot, that’s fine by me.

*for example I am wearing a mask in shops, not because of the perceived safety (the chance of catching it or passing it while fleetingly passing somebody in a shop is as close to zero as it possible to get) I’m wearing simply because there’s bound to be some moron who will get the hump and be vocal and I simply can’t be arsed to get into a row.
Yup, we should just all stop thinking about cause and effect, deny any and all responsibility for our actions. All who think before they act are simply hopeless wusses, cowards, lacking in backbone. And, after all, nobody lives forever and older people are almost dead anyway. Life has no real worth and we should stop fussing over accidents, we should campaign against safety instead of for it. Because these aims are the best, Britain already is a major leader by (in deed but not in word, the cleverest way) most spectacularly going against the perceived wisdom that Covid should be fought against. Let it rip and let's hope for more of the same in the UK - be happy and ignore everything they say. It's all fake news and a conspiracy.
It's that^^^sort of hysteria that isn't helping.

It's a given that people who think it's all a hoax and a conspiracy are total flat-earthists who shouldn't be given the oxygen of publicity, but there's a yawning chasm of a difference between these people and people who are realistic about the risk.
Totally agree with everything DD says and yes eve, I am sick to death of it all as well. My home town is now in lockdown and woe betide me if I dare to go and visit a friend at her house, but I tell you what, I will !
DD//Ignoring the fact I'm part of the "everyone else" to which he refers and I don't feel even slightly at risk //young people dyoing from vcovis
I would agree with you regarding 'vulnerable people' if it were not the fact that young healthy people are also dying from Covid.

Young healthy people die from covid, they also die from flu and you know some even die from going to the dentists but the risk is minute to infinitessimal. Let the coviphobics lock themselves away as they wish but the majority need to get on with it, not least because however long we have lockdowns it will still be about when we emerge. And as for the word covidiots just because it's in the dictionary it's still insulting.
