I have numbness (similar to, but not the same as “pins n needles”) that extends BOTH sides from my lower back all the way down my legs.
It starts, just above where the cleft of my bum begins. Then travels down both legs along the outside of thighs into the back of calves, (calves seems to be where it’s concentrated most.
It’s NOT painful at all but is enough to have made sleep very difficult for past week. It’s so annoying it feels like a million gnats crawling underneath my skin.
Prior to this I’d twisted my back (months ago). I’d seen a chiropractor for pain (no longer sore tho). He didn’t suspect any disc issues or bulges tho. I see the Chiro regularly. Even up to a week ago.
This creepy crawling sensation is driving me nuts! None stop! But worse when trying to sleep (cos obv then i focus on it more) It’s got worse in the past week
Do u think a chiropractor can ref for a mri? I have bupa.
I think that jumping straight to a MRI is jumping the gun.
It is not sciatica.
It could be a " no big deal " OR a significant sign of nerve involvement either from your back problem or something else. In my opinion, from the state of play at the moment.......it is no big deal.
You need to see your GP now for a neurological examination.
