I'm not sure we can predict the effects of the second vaccination anymore than we could the first; the reports are varying so much from one person to another.
The blood clots are very rare Emmie. As they are for people who're on the pill, people flying long haul, and people simply walking the streets.
I had my second jab last month. I had a sore arm, though not as bad as the first time but I did have a day feeling slightly unwell after the second. Nothing to worry about and over quickly.
I think Maydup is right - reactions to the firs one have no bearing on reactions to the second
A friend ran a temp 38'C, 24 h after which I cdnt believe ( xc it was in front of me) and then nothing for no 2.
I had sleep disturbances after both ( so what?) - bad sleep and then spending the day feeling out of it - which made me wonder what it would have been like to have covid
Or, if I cld wangle my 2nd one sooner wld this be an option?
By that I mean asking one of the vac centres if they had any spare at the end of the day that wld otherwise land in the bin?
I had AstraZeneca jab yday.
My mum (in South Africa) was diagnosed with breast cancer on 3 days ago.
I want to be able to get to her if needed and figure the “completed “ vax status may work in my favour.
Atm South Africa is not accepting tourists and unlikely to for a while.
There are instances where if (for eg) someone is terminally ill they will allow it ....
(and of course “terminal” is not something any of us will allow ourselves to think of at this stage! )
I just feel I need to get there to be able to assist practically whilst she has her treatment... myself n my siblings are scattered all over the globe and none of us live near to them.
I’m the logical one who wld be best suited (personality and practical skills) to help her and my dad during this time.
Of course it is OK to have it earlier, that's what the pharmaceutical company intended. It was the government's decision to delay to twelve weeks, to the consternation of some.
Yes. Slightly feverish overnight and in the morning (jab at 3 p.m.) but less acute than for the first one. Paracetamol and a cup of tea soon sorted it out. Definitely worth it.
as said mine didn't hit me till the evening, i almost called 111 for advice, but went to bed instead, which stopped the shaking eventually. felt achy arm for about a week -
Did you say it was today you were going Emmie? Good luck and keep me posted. Just like you I was fine in the morning when I had it. I even did some shopping on the way home then it started just before tea time and got consistently worse for the next few days. No problem with my arm though unless I was too ill to notice it!!! On Monday I shall take a bottle of water with me and some paracetamol and take them as soon as I've had the jab. I'll look out for your reaction tomorrow.
