One More Time!

A thought occurred to me. If you could live a moment of your life again what would you do? You cannot change anything at all, just experience the touch, sight, sound etc of the experience. Some of my choices. On the prow of a ship fifty years ago. Sailing into the harbour of Rio De Janeirio, blue sea, blue sky, dolphins skimming our bow. Flying fish leaping, beautiful timeless memory. Another, after a long walk in the countryside suddenly encountered silence, serenity, I stopped to take in the beauty of nature. All of a sudden I felt I became one with my environment, l belonged to this exceptional rural scene of fields, hedges, sky, I merged and became one with all. I was at peace.
A spiritual experience, one of several, but you take my point. What would you relive?

Watching the three Queens sail up the Mersey with Redman, huge crowds but the joy on his face was wonderful., Sitting on the cliff at Moelfre watching the birds on a hot summers day, church island on the menu strait, as the sun went down and the birds returned to roost, just side by side with him as the stars came our.
I attended the births of all 4 of my children - well, why not, i was there at their conception - and all 4 were emotional experiences. Those aside, the experience i would love to revisit my first experience of going to a football match at Turf Moor. Taken by my dad and my uncle as an early birthday treat (my birthday was a week later but Burnley were playing away), i was allowed to go the the bottom tier of the terraces with the other kids, immediately behind the goal. The year was 1962, Burnley were one of the top sides in the country, and there were 25,000 football fans inside Turf Moor. To a 7 year old, the roar of the crowd when we scored was like nothing i had ever heard before - but i heard it SIX times that day as we beat West Ham 6-0 - and the whole atmosphere was almost out of this world. Needless to say, a love affair was born that day.
