Goodness, Bobb! Not like you at all? We often describe our friends rather than just say friend.
We've had a hoot caused by a received Christmas card. Telling friends this morning I said...one of our UK friends..... M. will say...my Swedish son in law...so we know which one has been a numpty....it's not looking at race or colour....it's just a wee bit of additional information, surely?

Its not relevant though is it... my fat friend, my ginger friend, my black friend, my Asian friend... just seemed at odds with what maggiebee posted the other day about categorising people and not just regarding them as human beings
