Why are some for just the nose and others are for mouth and nose?

All mine were both but childrens ones could be just nose but someone said there recent adult one was allso just nose now

No idea. The ones I have been using up til now, throat and nose, are much quicker than the nose only, which I now have.

I think the throat swabbing put people off taking the tests.

I think it’s because the PCR swab of nose and throat are more accurate than the LFs are

Exactly Rocky, the ones you have to put down your throat put me off, but daughter said some are just for the nose and I thought that they might be as bobb said just for children, but it seems they are for adults too.

The last lot my daughter got were just for the nose, but the ones I managed to get were for mouth and nose, so not a happy bunny.

The different tests were probably simply developed by different manufacturers, in the rush to get some sort of testing available across the world.

I was originally getting 'throat & nose' ones from my local pharmacy but those I've been given over the past few months have all been just 'nose only'.

Yes the most recent ones are nose only - much easier than gagging on the throat and nose ones!

They stopped using PCR tests in the US as of yesterday.
They don't distinguish between Covid 19 and other viruses (like flu).
Looks like the guy who invented the test was right.
