I think the real problem is education and an unwillingness to address something that isn't much talked about. I knew one such family whose daughter, rather than ask her mother to get her what she needed, depended upon paper tissues.
I think these would be a great buy for any young girl starting her periods. One or two packs dependant on heaviness and number of days and also environmentally friendly. They can be rinsed before washing.

Kind of what women used (rags) before the invention of towels but more user friendly. And although I never used one, I think the 'cup' can replace tampons for swimming etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the cup, ta!

The idea of bloody tampons in the weekly wash I find rather repellent. But what do I know, I'm a mere man.
Incidentally I wouldn't object to a few extra bob on my tax bill to supply free tampons for all, it would be a appropriate gesture for a civilised society.
P.S. I wonder if Camilla would put Charles through the wash if ever he gained his expressed desire to become her tampon LOL.
