swollen gums

i had a tooth out last friday which was a problem tooth and now nearly a week later my gums still feel swollen and hot around the area where the tooth was taken out..is this normal .it was one of the back teeth also the front teeth now seem more sensisitive.i am taking some thrush treatment because i think i had thrush appear because of antibiotics.how long will this all last for and is it normal

Its quite common after extractions apparently. Seeing your Dentist would be the best thing to do but in the meantime you could rinse your mouth with warm salty water. It certainly helped me until I could see my Dentist.
