Earlier, I was checking my e-mail on a friends (wireless) laptop, when suddenly a pop up appeared reading the message 'a screenshot has just been taken' - or something like that. It was a private e-mail that I was reading and so I got a little worried. Just a second later, there was another grey pop up reading saying 'the screenshot was taken at 16.07' - or something like that! Anyway, i'm thinking now.. could he have some special software that detects e-mails, or takes screenshots of them? I don't want anyone reading that specific e-mail! Could it just have been a random silly pop up - ones you get when you're surfing? I really hope so :(
Not heard of this, but it sounds like random nerd mischief.
Comfort yourself that there are far more important people using the Net who's mails would be copied, before the day-to-day stuff people like you or I send or receive.
could just be saving the message so it doesn't vanish (as happens sometimes when I'm posting on AB and something goes wrong). I know Gmail does this; your email provider may do so too. In that case it would only be saved into a drafts folder on your email, or something like that.
It sounds like a rogue spyware remover trying to convince you that your comuter is riddled with spyware and to purchase their wonderful product to get rid of it(!) If it was real it would have taken the screenshot without letting you know.
