I've been prescribed propranolol for pressing situations like public speaking... I have an important meeting which i need to speak at at 4pm... I will be taking a 40mg tablet at 3pm. I will be going out that night and would like to know if anyone can tell me when the one tablet will wear off, so i can see if it is safe to drink alcohol? Thanks

i have taken propanol for the same reason and have had no adverse reactions to alchohol. It doesnt actually state on the packet to avoid alchohol as is the case with some drugs, e.g antibiotics.i know someone who has taken this type of beta-blocker long-term on a daily basis and wasnt advised against drinking alchohol either.
I have been on this drug for just over a year now as I suffered from bad panic and anxiety attacks. I have drunk alcohol with them and never experinced any side effects. I cannot say how long a single tablet lasts for, but if I miss mine for over 3 days, my panic attacks return. My doctor did prescribe them to me knowing that I had a slight drink problem too, so they must be OK with alcohol.
