Clicking Knee

Every time I stretch my legs then bend them again both my knees click. I actually feel like I haven't stretched properly until they click. Its been doing this occasionaly for years but I've noticed that lately it seems to be clicking more frequently and was wondering if I should be concerned e.g. is it going to lead to arthritis later on? I've never broke any bones or damaged my knees in any way and the clicking is not painful.

Been there, had the op. It is likely to be a small flap of cartilage that gets in the way of the kneecap, termed a meniscus tear. It won't go away without removal - normally by keyhole surgery so no big scarring.

Link to all things you 'kneed' to know. I gather it is a common sprots injury but willalso happen just because it can - wear and tear and all that.

'Sprots' are like sports but are specific to how I do them, by the way......

I've just had the op for this,, on Mon 13th, as nickmo says, its no big deal, one day only, recovery may take a couple of weeks, then 'all systems go', good luck.

My wrists do this all the time, and my left hip intermittently does.
