what is the likelihood of a woman becoming pregnant by her partner after he had a succesful vasectomy 11 yrs ago? Can they self reverse? Do the "tubes somehow reconnect"? Are there any cases of this happening?

The chances of a female becoming pregnant after the male has had a vasectomy are 4 in ten thousand.

I do not know why though.

I had a vasectomy 6 years ago and have had no problems at all...i would say that incidences of women getting pregnant after a successful one are very rare indeed

have it checked you never no

I've worked in the Op Theatre for 14 years and have never heard of it, though that's not to say it's not a possibility.

I'm afraid this reminds me of the old joke about someone having a 'Grudge Baby' i.e. someone had it in for you!

Sorry.........................

After remarrying last year, my dad (aged 52) had a reverse vasectomy, and his new wife gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in December, so it definitely can work.
If the man did not get TWO tests done to check the sperm count after the vasectomy & both were "negative", then it is possible.
