Does anyone know why they called those hairstlyes from the 70's with short hair on top and long sides/back a 'mullet'? What's it got to do with a fish?!

The fashion guru of the early 70's Henri Mullot started the hairdo.- Therefore naming it The Mullot.
sorry spelling sucks....mullet. The guy was French I believe.

lol trust him to be french. ONLY JOKING! i like the french, so please dont get loads of poeple bombarding me with messages now :s

:D

It is simply because the long bit which curls up at the back looks like the mullet fish...Germans are big fans of such hairstyles.

Wow, you like the French pinksmartie?

Well thats 3 of you then ;-)

Thanks to everyone who replied. Trust the French to come up with it!

I thought originally it was because of the mullet fish, but the name is just a coincedence. Google a mullet fish, you'll see that it isn't anything out of the ordinary.

The most rediculous hairdo ever
