How do you deal with a clingy friend?

I met someone recently at a party. She is a friend of a friend and we got on really well and chatted all night long. Exchanged emails and numbers and arranged to meet for a drink. For the next few days after the party, she was texting me alot which was fine. Then we met for a drink and arranged to meet up a week later. She text me everyday and if I didn't reply I would get a text saying 'did you get my last text'?. I had a cold and couldn't meet her for our next night out. She is still texting me everyday and the other day she text asking if I wanted to go for a drink. I said I was out in town anyway with a friend and could come and meet her if she wanted and she replied with 'No thanks, I don't want to be the 3rd wheel'!!!!!! I was quite annoyed at this as she was acting like I had let her down but we had nothing arranged! I don't know what to do. She is a nice girl and 2yrs younger than me and we get on fine but she is abit much. How do I deal with this? I just get the impression she doesn't have many friends! I don't want to let her down or be rude coz she is a friend of a friend aswell!

hi ruby! the comment "don't wanna b d 3rd wheel" makes me kinda think she wants more than platonic frindshp. she might think u have a thing for ladies, u know? or probably was informed so. if not she shouldn't hav pass d comment above. afterall, she met u thru a friend or does she expect u to disassociate urself from ur other frnds?

id advise u know where she's coming from and then know ur stand.

good luck Lol!!!***

Hiya Ruby, my CS message wasn't especially exciting, just a brief Hello, Good Evening and Welcome. I can't believe it went down the day after I joined! Just my luck.
