Kemi Badenoch Kick Starts Her Tory Crony...
News1 min ago
Dear all,
I started SW in Jan and have lost weight very very slowly (9lbs!!!) I feel deflated as I do normally stick to the plan. My friend that goes with me doesnt following the plan and loses 2-3lbs per week!!
For example, my first week I followed the book to a T and lost 1lb! my friend did follow the book quite well in her 1st week and lost 4lbs!!!
I feel that my consultant and others in the group dont actually believe that I do actually follow the eating plan and keep a food diary.
I am going to -restart the diet tomorrow and tighten up on what has recently slipped (mainly due to the fact I feel depressed at how slowly my weight is coming off). Any advice/suggestions/food ideas would be greatly appreciated.
It annoys me with new starters coming in on their first week and lose 7lbs! However I am not a drinker and when the consultant asks how they did, they normally say they gave up the drink!!! It can be really frustrating at times!
Anyway, any help what so ever would be greatly appreciated - I have at least 6 stone to lose, the quicker the better but as long as I dont fall off the plan and continue I am sure to get to my target!
One last thing - does anybody use the postal sw service and if so, is it any good? I dont like to stay back at class, as I feel that its a waste of time - I am doing this for me, not to find out what people have put on or lost in a week! But i think if i dont stop the support/guidance isnt there! - So i am thinking of the postal sw service... that way i am still tied to a slimming clubbing and will hopefully keep my faithful to losing weight!
Thanks for your help in advance!

Personally, I do stay to class, I find that the weeks when I don't, I'm not as motivated and I don't lose as much weight. Also it helps me as we share ideas for recipes and other food ideas so I don't get stuck in a rut of eating the same stuff every week.
I do go out every Friday night though and drink far too much and usually eat chips or Pizza after so I can't even say that I stick to it rigidly. Have you taken a food diary in so that your consultant can have a look at it and see if she can spot anything that might be hindering your weight loss?
I don't know about SW postal as I haven't tried it but I did do weight watchers online. Again, the fact that I wasn't even attending a class to get weighed didn't help me at all and I spend 50 and probably didn't lose anything. I prefer to go to the classes.
Good luck and keep at it!
Hi Foxy - I also joined SW just over a month ago and I have lost 8lb.I havent stuck to it rigidly as I havent given up the wine in the evening, but the last couple of weeks I have stayed the same so aia now know that has got to go! It works for me - I have done it before and lost 2 stone, but the sec I had a bad day i use dto give it up.This time I dont beat myself up if I have a bad day - I just try harder the next day.
I have just bought a mountain bike last week and on friday I cycled 4 miles which I was dead chuffed with, and I will go out again tomorrow.
I think that if you stick to it the best you can, drink loads of water and try and do some sort of exercise each day, even just a ten min brisk walk, they the pounds will start to shift again - good luck!!
I started Slimming World in January 2005 and lost two and a half stone in 9 months! It has definitely worked for me. However, when my sister joined she could only lose about 3lb in 12 weeks. Different diets suit different people. I will say though that you really have to stick to this diet. Make sure you weigh things out for the first few weeks because its so easy to slip up. I would definitely recommend that you go every week for the weigh in. I have not stayed for one class afterwards but just going there to get weighed really spurs you on! If after a few weeks you still arent' happy, I would try another diet because there's nothing worse than being unhappy. I wish you lots of luck.
