For about two weeks now I've been getting fairly constant heart 'flutters', mainly during the evening, but got them again at the moment. Is this something I should be concerned about or is it just a product of smoking, drinking and not doing any excercise! (no lectures please). not had them before.

I think the most common cause I have heard for these is smoking, lack of exercise, drinking too much alcohol, drinking too much caffeine etc.

If you are experiencing them regularly it would probably be worthwhile visiting your GP for a check.

whether related or not, isn't this a good opportunity to quit the ciggies?

Forget about health for one second and just look here for the monetary thing alone!!!

Also smoking is a bit chavvy nowadays.

I get this after I drink coffee .............. Can't wait till I see the old boys in the local and tell 'em they are a bit chavvy :-)
Could be worthwhile getting checked out at the docs. There is something called Wolff-Parkinson-Whyte syndrome which produces heart flutterings. Just google for it.

Thanks guys, think that's the first time I've been likened to a chav lol ;o) Not particularly worried, maybe should be more so. They seem to have stopped again so will play it by ear. I'm quite fond of smoking, so i'm afraid I won't be giving it up just yet. I don't see the point, until such time as I really want to, don't want to be one of those people that gives up 10 times. It'll happen.... just not yet. x
So if you are not bothered about giving up nor your heart. Have a look at this funny photo of throat cancer. here.
