Married now, so doesn't really apply anymore, but when I was younger I wouldn't have dreamed of going back with the person once we'd split up.

I had my first son in 1987, I split with his Dad soon after, but we got back together in 1993 got married 1994, nother son 1999, and a daughter 2002, It can happen. We always say, "I always loved you". But we're not cheesey!! Lol 12 years July!

the above posters would disagree but i say never go back. if it didnt work out first time chances are you'd be wasting your time if you tried again. the same differences would still be there after all.

after a long term relationship broke down we tried to make it work but realistically there was no real chance. the one thng going back did for me though was give me closure as funny as it sounds. after the initial break up i was devestated. after trying again i was just....well over it to be honest. i could see there was no future.

i guess everyone is different tho

I'd say it all depends on the people concerned, sometimes you don't realise what you have until after they've gone, I split with my fiancee, went crawling back, and we've been happily married now for twentyseven years,, so I would never advise someone not to try again, depending on circumstances.

Yes I have, and funnily enough we split up for the same reason we did first time round.

However the reason was something neither of us could do anything about so I wouldn't say that getting back together is a bad thing provided you can change whatever it was that you split over first time round.

i split with my first love,and when we tried to get back together our (my) pride got in the way!!

we are good friends now and both of us are happily married......... to other people!!

i have tried twice to not go back after splitting, this time I am trying harder but it's not easy after sharing so much over the years. It's depressing too having to pretend to be busy all the time and avoid contact :(

Hi carla, poor marks, just 12, i missed it too driving home from work but Ronan keating was live in the studio with them and he said he didn't think they would go tonight! Yes Ronan!!!!!!!!!
