So far today I have learnt that 'renal' refers to the kidneys; my boss is going to Huston next month; an 'Appaloosa' is a type of horse; the Rhone river rises in Switzerland; Zuma has been cleared of rape; the lift in our office is broken.
yes, one thing 4getmenot should have learnt is to take emails with a pinch of salt; that nonsense about ducks' quacking seems never to die, despite the laws of physics. I went to the source of the Rhone once Champagne; it's a glacier, rather dirty, and the water starts trickling down the valley as a little stream, gradually getting joined by other streams.
I've learned that 'distraction' seems to be the best method of stopping my son from crying when I take him to playgroup - today was the first time in about 6 months without tears!!!! YAAAAY!!!
Good coz I just copied it and pasted it. I dont think they are all true especially about the knee caps. Thought some people would like reading it. Didnt think I'd get abuse for it.
Also.. no piece of paper can be folded more than 7 times. *waits whilst you all try it*... And don't think that you can do it.. the 8th one never looks like a nice clean fold! Lol
and over lunch I learned that the first asparagus in Germany was planted in Stuttgart in the middle of the 17th ct, while in England and France it was already common in the beginning of the 17th ct.
I learned over lunch that the chef Marco Pierre White has retired from cooking at the age of (about) 45! alright for some. he also has 3 children, one called (mini) marco. and he has restaurants named after his daughter and another son!! We have a new guy here who has worked for him for the last 10 years!! very interesting!!
I've learned to never leave my daughter in the same room as my bass guitar while I answer the phone!!! I was cleaning biscuit and milk off it for ages!!!x
