weird phobias

Have you or anyone you know got a weird phobia? I was reminded today whilst looking at some incredibly cute signets about a work colleague i once had who had a fear of fluffy yellow chicks! How could ya not love em? Also, my sis-in-law has a thing about beans, not beans in a group but if there is a lone bean it freaks the hell out of her! Whats that all about??? Please share because i find it fascinating.

I have a real problem with sticky labels, not all of them, just some. The worst are the yellow price tag ones that you see in corner shops they make me want to gag. If I touch one by accident I feel like my hand has been contaminated and I have to wash it thoroughly! Urgh yuk, I�ve got the shivers thinking about them!

I have a phobia of certain words - once people find out what they are (easy cos I visibly cringe if someone says them) then they go out of their way to get them into conversations.

I also have a baked bean phobia - everything about them makes me feel ill. This started when I was young and my older brother chased me round the house before pinning me down on the bathroom floor and rubbing some in my face. It's haunted me ever since!!

I hate balloons and that really thick cellophane stuff that squeaks when you touch it (sets my teeth on edge!)

A friend of mine has a fear of normal balloons.Shame is for his 40th a few of us decorated the whole of the front of his home including his front door with 40 balloons ( Didn't know of his phobia ) He left for work using the back door after the huge shock he got ! His wife said it was the best laugh she'd had in ages.

My middle daughter has a phobia about hair in food. If she sees a single hair, that's it, her meal is over. The weird thing is, she is a staff nurse at a children's hospice and deals with everyday issues that make me cry to think about them, but show her a human hair in food and she goes pale.

we have nothing to fear, but fear itself !

saying that, i have a fear of severe gales ! (but only when im in doors.....

Bogies, they make me heave if I see anybody with one on their face, I have to tell people if they have one flickering, I think its from my brother chasing me about with one attached to his finger when I was younger, It was also his ambition to make me eat one. Even mine can turn my stomach if i've got one stuck to my cheek first thing in a morning.

Also the thing that is worse than one lone bean is a half of a bean, that is just plain repulsive!!!!!!

gross orangelady, thats made me feel quite sick! Your brother sounds delightful! NOT! Hope he doesn't still try that now. what is it with brothers? hellibobs had a mean one too! lol what is it with the beans?? i thought my sis-in-law was the only one! definately weird!

Chickens!!! Absulutely terrified of them. Little chicks I`m ok with, but not the fully grown ones. I love eating the ******* though lol

Andy-Hughes, I share that same problem, no matter how hungry i am. One hair and its all over. I also hate the feel or even the thought of the feel of that disgusting material that alot of things like a snowmobile suit is made of. (kind of shiny and smooth). Gives me the chills. Im also totally grossed out about seeing someone with rotten teeth, Someone spitting while chewing tobacco and several other things.

Sponges make me feel ill. Especially if they are new. Uuggghhhhhhhh!!! I just can't stand the feel or look of them!x
