The first three were just like scratches with an after pain of mild sunburn for a day or two but the one down my leg bought a little tear to my eye at times.
Generally speaking, legs, ankles, wrists, ribs and anywhere very close to a bone or very fleshy might nip a bit.
Go for it. Once the tattooist starts, you'll be fine

yes they hurt....because lets face it ,its needles in skin...but saying that i have about 30 so it doesnt hurt that much the worst of mine are on my hand from little finger out side to 1/4 way down my wrist and on top of my foot, all the rest were almost like an aggrovating scratch, but nothing like when you prick your finger with a pin .they are addictive hence my 30, and my back is covered, but i have my works of art with my all the time.i look on it as the tattooist is drawing with a metel pencil not needles
good luck

Well I have three myself a large design on my lower back that I had when I was 18, a quote above it ("of all the things i've lost i miss my mind the most") and a dagger between my shoulder blades. They actually put numbing cream on now b4 starting a tat and althou it's ment to take at least an hour to kick in I must be really susceptible to it (althou I do have a freakishly high pain thresh-hold) cos i only ever felt the first prick of the needle then i didn't feel anything else (and no i hadn't passed out!). So it depends on ur pain thresh-hold really.
