9/11 last night?

Following 4getmenots earlier question regarding 9/11 last night,.....

would you rather be a Coward and survive (i.e. the japanese bloke - (he quoted himself a coward - not my words)

or

a hero ( the guy who stayed to help victor) and die

God,what a hard question - difficult one,but I guess my kids would rather have a coward as a mother than no mother at all.

yeah i think i agree pinkfizz....

i also think that if they all knew that the towers were to collapse they ALL would have carried on down the stairs to get out... even Victor!!!

ON THAT DAY, IN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES, ON ONE WOULD HAVE BEEN LABELED A COWARD.

i would have run till my legs couldnt carry me another inch. to help a person in need is very noble. to give your life for a stranger, is stupidity. (in my opinion)

my familys feelings are worth more to me than a strangers ! i would think of "me and mine" before anyone else.

guess the guy from Japan would call me a coward too.

even now, the sights of that day sicken me to the bottom of my stomach.

i totally agree, i was only quoting what the japanese guy said about himself......

none of them were cowards... they were brave, and i admire every one of them , who survived and who sadly didnt make it!

no one can ever say what they would do in those circumstances. my husband is very considerate and caring and would help anyone but when we were faced with a horrific experience he was very confused. we were in spain 3 years ago and woke to find our hotel on fire. he carried my son and went ahead of me in case i fell on the stairs. we couldnt see our hands in front of our faces, could only hear voices. when making our way down, the heat was getting intense below us and we were aware we were going into the fire. my husband said he was very ashamed because an elderly man was in front of him and he had his hand ready to push him out of the way but didnt. he cried all day after, feeling ashamed of what he might have done. on the other hand, he pulled me into a corridor, gave me my son, and left us to go down further to save another elderly man. i was angry that he left us and we may have lost him ...you just dont know what you'll do. god help them all from that day...very upsetting to watch the reconstruction on tv but it has to be done i think too.

it was crete...and on our first night of our 2 week holiday.not pleasant ..you never ever forget. especially when i have already lost family in a fire, all i could think about was my mum and sister getting another phone call. by the way, no one was hurt and some idiot had set a couch on fire on the ground floor, being old it didnt pass safety rules..a lesson for the hotel too i think :)
