hi just about at the end of my 2nd week of having special k for breakie and lunch, definately working. so for now i'm going to continue along with walking the dog daily, drinking plenty of water and when hungry between meals I snack on dates.

There are three or four varieties of special k so dont get bored. i have with sweetened soya milk and coule eat any fruit between meals and normal meal at night which I enjoy and polish off having not eaten crap all day like before!!
Skin looks good, bowels fine and cravings for chocolate at night gone. Don't eat after my main meal at 630ish.

Yeah, you could use another cereal as long as it isnt frosted or chocolate. I would have thought branflakes would be better than cornflakes. Basicly cereal is quite filling, releases energy slowly so should keep you full up but you should be easily consuming less calories than normal by replacing luch or dinner with a bowl of cereal (its just a cheap alternative to slimfast).
Any low GI fruit should be ok to snack on (apples, pears, berries).

Sorry but fad diets are a short term fix and the weight quickly goes back on. I speak from experience, believe me. I am not sure snacking on dates can be too good for your teeth either. Best to just cut back on your eating in my opinion and lose the weight sensibly. I have lost 2 & half stone and still have 7lbs to go but couldn't do anymore fad diets.
My daughter is getting married in June which was a big incentive. I joined Weight Watchers to get all the info I needed. Lost one and half stone there and then carried it on on my own as I didn't want to keep paying out every week and didn't really like going to classes. I am sure I will get rid of the last 7lbs before the wedding.
I have to disagree Goodsoulette. I find it just makes you crave the things you haven't eaten for a while and this is how you put the weight back on. By eating sensibly including the so called naughty treats, you educate yourself into eating the right foods and the right amount for you. At the end of the day though, I suppose it is what works for you.
