Does anyone suffer from psoriasis - if so what works for you? I have it on my hands and use Dovobet twice a day. I was just interested to know what others found helpful. Cheers skylight
i do but i have it on my head. the only thing i have found that works is t-gel, and shaving my head. it only appeas if im really stressed out, which is most of the time.
My mother and my brother both suffer from it. My mum finds that dying her hair helps the psoriasis on her scalp, and being on the contraceptive pill calmed it down a lot on her body. My brother's is quite severe and only sun treatment in the hospital helps his, he has tried almost every drug that they have offerered him but nothing seems to work. Hydrocortisone creams are quite effective of mild flare ups of it. How bad is yours?
mine is pretty severe and i go into hospital generally about 3 times a year sometimes 4, the only thing that works for me is dithranol, i have it on my scalp too and use scc.
I have it on backs of hands, elbows, bits and pieces on legs and on ankles. Only time it goes away is when I 'm abroad and swim every day in sea and air dry in sun. The first week it gets worse then starts to improve the second.
A friend of mine had psoriasis very badly and turned to Chinese herbal medicine, it cleared it up unbelieveably, with lasting effects.
It's certainly not an easy avenue to take, as the liquid tastes absolutely dreadful (I tried it for a different skin condition and really cannot exagerate how horrible it is). But may be worth a look.
For years I have tested so many techniques to help my Psoriasis, and some things have helped more than others. Some things I have done have worked very well. Many other people have different stories on what helped them the most. For more informations, visit http://www.mypsoriasistreatment.com/
