It sounds like bruising, which sometimes happen when you are not very used to waxing. If the redness does not fade in a couple of days, you should go see your doc. It could also be burns, if you used hot wax, and you can get treatment for those. Finally, it could be an allergic reaction to the wax. If the redness/pain doesn't disappear after a day or two, go see your GP.
Hiya,
You just ripped off some of the skin by the sounds of it, put vaseline on it and it will heal in a few days
next time i would try something other than waxing!

I too had an accident the other week where i ripped the strip off too slowly and left half the wax on me so decided to put another over the top which added more wax...to cut a long story short i ended up in the shower for two hours trying to get rid of the b******y stuff!!!
tip for future-never embark on a waxing session without babyoil handy-it shifts the stuff if it sticks to you!!

it sounds like bruising, I would advise next time, you go to a reputable salon and sneakily ask questions while you are having the treatment, then you will learn how to do it yourself. Also, buy some proper afterwax treatment lotion, its made specifically and therefore none of its ingredients will irritate the area in any way. Ive been going for 7 years now as I hate shaving and can quite eaisly wax myself, but prefer somone else to do it as the end result is usually much tidier. I mean, unless you're a tranied mechanic or have a good knowledge and comprehnsion (sp) of it, you're not going to fix your car engine yourself are you?!!!
