A friend (aged 57) has just been diagnosed with this. he has been having trouble with his mouth for a few months prior to this, feeling dry, and with a salty taste he can not get rid of. Do you think it could be linked to the diabetes?

Dryness and the ned to drink is commonly associated with diabetes. The body needs the extra fluid to help flush the unconverted sugar from the system.
