Urea's commercial uses include being as an additive ingredient in cigarettes, designed to enhance flavour and is sometimes used as a browning agent in factory-produced pretzels. Urea is also used as an ingredient in some hair conditioners, facial cleansers, bath oils and lotions. However, urine alone will not aid good skin since it only works as such when urea is mixed with other chemical compounds. Try it and see.

Urea is present in the skin naturally, you can get urea based emollients and they are all good for trapping in moisture. Urea is fine, as is urine on eczema providing you are healthy, dont take recreational drugs, drink plenty of water etc etc I know in small babies it is often advised that you could rub some urine (euwww) onto the effected areas, if you cant get it from the patient then that of the same sex parent... urggh
Good, your answer suprises me. my lad suffered with eczema when he was younger.
had i known pee was a cure (or part cure) i would have given it a try, but i was led to believe that salt is a natural drying agent, not a moisturiser !!!
how can that help ease a dry skin condition ?? woldnt the salt overpower the urea ??

urine, if following a proper diet, is 95 % water and 2.5% urea the rest is a mixture of minerals etc so despite its allegedly being all salty it isnt really. If the wounds are open, you are supposed to mix it up with some natural veggies n stuff, dont ask me exactly what, then apply it. I think the point is that the main beneficial ingredient in urine therapy is the urea, and there are many emmolients that contain this at higher levels. I find that a good exfoliantion with a bristle brush, followed by a few drops of baby oil help locl in the moisture far easier than peeing on yourself,
Eucarin cream, very good for eczema, contains bovine urea - basically, cow pee.
My youngest suffered from eczema a lot as a child. Our GP told me not to stop him peeing in the bath, as this was actually good for his skin.
Also, soldiers used to be told to pee on their feet in order to get the skin hardened for a long march.
