What do you like best about this site or this topic? i like the way we can spot straight away when a thread is just not worth bothering with. (Try to avoid being predictable and slagging mine off eh?) I have been busy reading genuinely interesting and intelligent stuff around the site so it isn't all bad.

I don't think my response to a one word reply like that had anything to do with my age nor how long i have been a member on answerbank, it was a reaction to the attempt by keirah to appear uninterested in my thread, therefore maybe the better plan would have been for Keirah not to have responded, which is a tactic many abers are choosing to adopt in their droves on this site should they be unconcerened with a thread.

there aren't any new people on this thread I-say, certainly not that i can see, therefore i for one cannot be accused by anyone of talking down to new members. Now those that choose to appear again in various anonymous disguises, just to have a pop at someone, they are fair game I reckon, but there are none of those here either, and so the tangent you are taking this thread off to is not really pertinent here is it?

fair point Dot. But I do think this site has become a very much old school, and bosom (sp) pal crowd. And a lot of new folk on here can be a bit put off by that.

Well I repeat my point then stewy, i have no problem with newbies, but experience tells me when a a greenie appears to be a newbie by their colour but is infact a chameleon by the nature of their posts and back story. It has happened over and over again, they are the people who cause the issue, people like myself can choose to ignore them or confront them, and that is down to personal choice, which we do still have on here.

Wild Bill, I am too busy working near 50 hours a week trying to afford my two weeks in Egypt in August to think about applying for a bus pass, and I don't think a zimmer would go with my jasper Conran boots, but I did have a set of crutches last august when i dropped a glass shelf on my left foot in work.

i more or less pop onto the history geneology thread even though i have never posted on there but i have found most of the answers have been a great help to me . this is a good site but many alias spoil it for others there are some good people here willing to give good advice as for b&s either you take it or leave it so to speak lol
