Someone once said to me
"If you love someone I don't think you can get over them, there is always a part of you that misses them or wonders what life would have been like if you were still together. "
Do you think this is true?
Or do you think its easy to forget and easy to move on.

I think that YES, you can get over them, if you have to. I was forced to get over my ex after he cruely dumped me months before our wedding, i still wonder what went wrong and what life would be like if we were still together, but thats not to say that i am still in love with him. I am over him, i moved on, it was hard, it hurt, but im over it, but that doesnt mean i cant still think about the past.
To be perfectly honest I sometimes think "what if" about lots of different scenarios, not just about past loves. It's easy to think that. "What if I had made that other decision many years ago?", or "What if I won the lottery on Saturday?"

By the way. I am fully intending on winning the lottery on Saturday.
Its natural to wonder 'what if' - this doesn't mean you are not over them or still carrying a torch for them.

its like role playing and imagining scenarios - what if we had gone to that place that day when there was a fire...what if i had crossed the road just a few minutes later...what if i had been a twin...what if i had gone to a different school...we do it all the time with all sorts of things, so merely imagining what could have been does not mean you haven't moved on.

i have thought of it with all of my exes - and there are a few 'Phews!', a few 'mmm...?' and few 'awww, not so bad'
but i am a glad i am not with any of them now.
i will never forget florence my first love our eyes met in the window of dorothy perkins she was modelling a lovely tartan ankle length wrap around skirt so i carried her home
if you love them set them free
if they dont come back?
hunt them down and shoot the b******s!

always tickles me

Recently I was in a supermarket and a chap came up to me and chatted away asking how I was, how was my family, he obviously knew me but I couldn't think who he was - not unusual I meet lots of people through work. It was only after he'd gone it dawned on me he was a boy I'd gone out with for 4 years who I loved so much I didn't go to uni and a didn't take a job in the US because I didn't want to be parted from him. So I think it is possible to forget and move on lol!!!

hellion mustve been really deep and meaningful?

poor guy.
cast aside like a perforated condom.

lol
In defence legend I went out with him when he was 17 through to 20 and when I met him he was 40 and looked very different. I knew he reminded me of someone to look at and it was only after he had gone that I realised he looked like his Father lol! But next time a teen says to you 'But I love him' just remind them that in another 20 years you won't even know who they are!!!
Question Author
well maybe if tyioud fancied his father then you wouldve remembered him sooner .
