How do you prevent a hangover as apose to curing one! I'm not a big big drinker but like to enjoy myself and get a bit 'merry' - but I always seem to start feeling a bit rough whilst I'm still out. Is there anything I can do/take before I head out apart from the old 'glass of milk' trick? Anyone got any good tips for me? Thanks in advance!

take anadin before you go out. and drink plenty of water, even try a glass in between each drink. :-)
A glass of milk beforehand? Never heard of that, wont it curdle with whatever you're drinking (blurgh!)
Drinking loads of water beforehand is a great help. I usually drink 2+ litres per day and I rarely suffer hangovers.

Hangovers are caused by dehydration, and I once read somewhere (from memory!!) that you have to drink 3 pints of water to every pint of lager in order not to feel the effects of alcohol at all. Even I can't manage that one.

If you're not a heavy drinker then drinking lots of water throughout the day will sort you out for the evening ahead.
Drinking a glass of water before you go to bed is a great one, rather than before you go out. Eating before you start drinking also works.

Thank-you {bet I'll be in the loo all night though!}
The milk thing is supposed to line your stomach?
I do want to feel the effects of the alcohol {in a nice way}, I just don't want to feel ill and ruin my nights out!
My bloke used to swear by a plateful of mashed spuds before he went out on the razz.
take a berocca before bed
make sure you eat before you start drinking , and drink lots of water , that should lessen the effects of a hangover anyway!
lots of water or milk before you go out.
You can also buy charcoal tablets from your local Pharmacy. They absorb the alcohol and prevent hangovers the next morng.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!
A glass of milk is a good idea as it lines the stomach, so does mashed potato, or a good vegetable soup (looks the same coming back up too!!) Or, drink Orange juice before boozing as it retains the vitamin c in your body.
Sweet tasting mixers with spirits helps the alcohol get into the bloodstream quicker too, so avoid those if you can and don't mix - eg. wines and beer, or spirits with wine. A chaser can be okay after a couple of beers but not too many....failing that just have a good fry-up the next morning and you're sorted!!
I've heard that taking Artichocke supplements before and after drinking prevents a hangover
you can get herbal supplements from boots called 'ru21' you take two before you go out and a couple during the night and you wake up the next day feeling fine. they are totally natural and it beats drinking loads of water and being in the loo all night.
Try not drinking alcohol it always works for me. It is really funny too watching everyone else too.
