1 Plasma - the fluid containing all the soluble components of blood ( proteins, fats, sugars, hormones, clotting factors and others).

2 Red blood cells - to carry oxygen from the lungs to the body and carbon dioxide back out. Lack of these is anaemia. 3 Platelets - important for blood clotting - work with the soluble clotting factors.

4 White blood cells - part of your immune system. There are 5 main types of white blood cells, each with a different target or role in fighting off invaders
