Common wisdom has it that having written a note expressley declaring that he was not going to kill himself, he got up to place it on the mantlepiece.
Unfortunately he tripped on the rug in front of the fire, fell over and his biro, with which he had scribed his final note, punctured his aorta as he fell on it.
Alas, for Kenneth not only did he meet his demise in such a tragic fashion, but also gave credence to that age old proverb that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword.
