at 52 sick fed of trying to pay the bills, cant afford anything not even a holiday, how many hours to i have to work to have some sort of lifestyle, so given up now, i want to get out the rut and change my way of life, i am single with no commitments, has anyone one done it and how did they get on, did they come back into the system
I have found that living a simpler lifestyle allows you to save for luxuries such as holidays ect, do you have loans or credit cards?? these are real killers of wages!
I have found that living frugally (buying cheaper brands) not eating out/or takeaways, driving less have made a difference to our budget, I know it sounds boring but its a great feeling to not owe anyone anything!
Oh dear lord Heathersweat I know exactly how you feel...I also have this very strong urge to 'jump ship' sell my house and get the hell out .....I wonder why Im working - what for? To keep a roof over my head that's all.....its tough going.
thanks guys , dont you think i havent explored my finances, ie, rent, pay council tax, dont drive, dont smoke, love a drink, dont go on holidays, dont bleeping buy designer, no loans, no credit cards,no takeaways, anyone else got any any realistic advice cos i wouldnt ask otherwise
Have you looked at http://www.gapyear.com/ or there are several other sites similar. Also you can get good advice from Connexions- it's not just for kids. You can also have a look on the Guardian website under their "Charities" jobs, and anything thats advertised in the back of the big issue. They are always looking for volunteers for people to work abroad, usually for charities. You could also go back to College and study something you love, which could lead to a more fulfilling job? If you did a TEFL course you could travel the world and teach english to keen Japanese students! Or any in fact! x
miss scarlett thank you, but i live in the real world cant affford to go back to college, is ther anyone out there that is doing or living a totally different lifestyle
