losing a little weight?

i have cut down on the rubbish i eat and i run a mile everynight using my treadmill at home??

am i wasting my time, or do i need to do more than that?

holiday in 8 weeks!!!!!

Weights also help in burning calories.

You could include some interval training on your treadmill to stop you getting bored, fast run/sprint for 1 minute, jog for two etc, or whatever suits you.
How long does the mile take you? You would be better off running/jogging/walking fast for at least 30 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to get into the fat burning zine and I would imagine you arent getting there.
yes like goodsoulette said it takes 15mins to get into the fat burning zone.
why dont you change one mile to time? ie do 30mins then next day 35 and build it up?
I teach aerobics and step as a hobby after work and that was sound advice they gave you. The humble skipping rope burns calories fast too as they work the whole body. Any way,well done and keep at it.

I think after 8 weeks of anything like that you'd need a darn good holiday to recover !

thanks for the answers everybody............ it takes me 7 minutes to run a mile so i am far from the fat burning stage? i think 30 minutes would kill me!!!!!

Last time i wanted to lose weight i cut out all carbs and in 5 weeks without any exercise i lost enough weight so you could notice and i felt better in my bikini.
So if you did this and kept up the running you should lose quite a bit in 8 weeks.
you dont have to run rugeley, walk real fast for the first 15v minutes, jog for five, run for 7 and then jog then walk.
Rug...are you determined to fit into THAT bikini in 8 weeks
