My grandparents lived in a granny annexe joined to our house which we could get to through a door off our kitchen. As children, we were always running in and out, often having tea with them or watching TV if another channel was on in our bit of the house.
ANYway, one day when I was about 14 or so, I walked in there and they hadn't heard me. They were standing in their kitchen, hugging each other, lost to the world! They didn't hear me, and I left quietly. It moves me to tears every time I remember that, because at that time they'd been married 50 years and still loved each other so much. I decided at that moment that I wanted a marriage like that, and vowed I'd never divorce. It's my most precious memory of them, and they never even knew about it!!
:o)
when i was twenty two i had to decide weather to get up ,leave all my bags and possesions and leg it up the road to try and catch a lift to devon which was leaving in one minute cos i had overslept

Mine was missing a train from london to liverpool by literally 1 minute,my friend managed to get it and was badly injured when it crashed.
And cyanide, I'm still teary, but happy! It's lovely to think about it again actually, because I've been feeling a bit cr@p today and now I'm all fine again.
Good work, stokeace!!
That's awful! Close shave or what?
Love to you nutgoneflake.
XXX,
I have had 3 real serious minutes like that.

1 My wife telling me she had cancer

2 getting a phone call telling me my youngest son was being taken to hospital, after a serious accident at work he had a broken back and smashed hip, I was terrifed.

3 getting a phone call from a stranger late at night telling me my other son had been involved in a crash, on travelling to get to him seeing the blue flashing lights in the distance was very worrying

Luckily all 3 are still here to tell the tale.
get in ray. 3 out of 3 im not happy about the incidents but the outcome was a great result

i once found a toddler in a beer garden slumped over and turning blue after choking on a balloon and there was no-one around. i pulled the ballon out and fussed and farted around sh1tt1n bricks till she got her breath and started screaming. no-one could grasp what i [and the baby] had been thru. her parents just smiled and said thanks and went home.
mine was the 1 minute it took for my dad to have the heart attack that killed him so suddenly when i was 17. That day my life changed dramatically.
Cheers dilf, unlucky but very lucky at the same time, hat trick eh, yours would be so terrifying, to see a toddler like that, god that is scary, and they walk off oblivious to it.
The minute in which my darling son Kevin took his last breath while I cradled his head in my arms. He was three days away from reaching his 21st birthday and all his dreams and so many of mine were forever shattered. Kevin died of brain cancer.
julie, Carakeel, my heart goes out to you both xx

ohhh carakeel im so so sad to hear that xxxx and hugs xxx
thanks nutgoneflake and stokeace, it was 21 years ago now so the pain has lessened somewhat but not a day goes by when i dont give him a thought or two.

Carakeel, im so so very sorry you had to suffer that pain. I cant imagine how you cope ! God bless you! XXX
Kevin died 17 years ago and although I have found my smile and my happiness again, I will never loose the sadness that haunts me. My heart goes out to all who have had to say goodbye to a loved one. Kevin lives on in my heart and my darling partner RATTER shares my love for him, even though they sadly never had the chance to meet. They would most certainly have had a great time together keeping me on my toes with their mischief and wonderful sense of humor!

All of your minute stories are amazing and so touching and I am so glad we are all here to tell them. Big hugs to you all XXX :o)
