It's not only that but also someone had a right good rant at me last night on 'is anybody awake out there' and they can be really hurtful especially when they are abusive. I think they were probably drunk but nevertheless is anyone out there a moderator at that time in the morning? Can't something be done to stop it?

So they aren't an exclusive phenomenon pixi? I just think it's sad. Don't read their posts, so don't respond. But wish more was done by Ed. team; instead, they spend all their time moving posts and editing words out that are in no way offensive etc.
monkeyeyes, you are right, they love it. But I haven't even got pity for them any more.

Pirate1 there is no need for people to be needlessly harsh is there? I know it's all just words, but why can't people use pleasant words. Isn't that the point of AB? A helpful online community (pah!) with lovely members.

leela it happens on almost every forum I visit. It even happens on specialised forums not just question and answer sites and general chat forums. I cant see Ed doing any more about it then he/she already is, that is banning them when they get too out of hand. Ive been a member on here for over 2 years and the troll stuff has always been happening :(

Hi pixi, most of the people on this thread seem to have the right idea, the thing is, i am pretty sure that even though most people don;t like the troll Mentality, they also have an aversion to actually using the report option and getting the rubbish shifted.

pixi, I had no idea what a common problem they were until I Googled it and read the Wikipedia entry for it! Like the idea of "trolling for newbies"! Seems it's used a lot on here, and not so gently either.
It just puts me off using the site is all. I ignore the actual posts, it just hurts my eyes to see so much cr*p!
