Took one of my aunties to-day to the railway station at picadilly, manchester. She is going to see her sister in the lakes.

In the parking lot , in the disabled section there was on eof those little smart cars, 2 seater no boot etc. Disability ticket on display. My problem, if you are disabled how the hell do you get into this little matchbox car. Taking the pi55 I thjought.

Very sharp Bob.
Why would someone with a disability be unable to get into a small car?

It just occurred that if you can contort yourself to squeeze into a small space you can walk 500 yards.

Depends on the disability...I have a disabled parking badge as I have emphysema and can't walk far,I am capable of getting into small cars if need be though :-)
Hi Dock
My Sister in the USA took on eof those cars for a test drive last weekend. Not yet on the roads in USA yet.
She said there was lots of leg room in the car.

My experience is based on a bloke I used to live next door to. Able bodied but managed to get a car on motorbility.

Lots of folk take the pi55 in this country. Give the genuine ones a bad name.

So Doc because of your 'experience', you assume this person in the railway station carpark was the same?
I work with people with disabilities and there are hundreds of different types. Maybe this one was genuine.
I know someone on full disabiltiy due to being an alcoholic, she would be able to get in and out of the car so long as she wasnt drunk.
I better post it in the correct 'category' then Doc..see jokes (if its allowed lol)
You don't need to have a physical disability to obtain a disabled parking permit.x
