Im not sure if this is the right place but i have a question regarding a new office block thats been built, is there a law or regulation that states that each room/office must have windows to let in fresh air, the offices have air con but because it got air conditioning does it mean windows are required, would i look at the building regs if so i wouldnt know where to start
I think you are onto a hiding to nothing trying to use Building Regs for this. It is very unlikely that an office block with AC will have been designed outside the BRegs.
To answer your question directly there is no requirement for opening windows in buildings with AC and it would defeat the point.
There are legal requirements for minimum working temperatures (maximum too??), but none for having windows - just as well for the few remaining coal mine owners left in the UK I would think. The only windows I have in my office is owned by Bill Gates.
I share your pain though. I'd much rather have fresh air and light than aircon. Ever thought about getting an outdoors job?
