i am really worried about going back to work tommorow as i think ive done something wrong. I said someone could have holiday and then didnt pass on the dates they wanted then it was too late. then i said i would take the flak so she could have it - now i think i am in trouble with hr dept. they tried to phone me on my mobile left a message but by the time i looked at my mobile it was too late to phone them back. i was out for the day on satarday and been off for four days spending time with my girlfriend.
there are other things i think are going wrong and its all because i am no good.

good luck steve.
stewey - I am very familiar with steve's posts. Low self -esteem / depression, whatever it is that steve suffers with, can't be a great deal of fun. Neither is it a condition that can be dealt with pronto, it's an ongoing thing. I prefer to give empathy than sarcasm anyday. I have just got an email from a friend saying, sorry I haven't been in touch, I have been in hospital after taking an overdose, she has suffered with depression on and off for as long as I can remember, I value her as a very deep friend & will continue to support her in every way.
Hello steve, what's up now? Come on mate this is trivial stuff compared to what you have had to work out in the past. I told you weeks agop that if retail was not or you then look around. I bet you've done your usual thing and just rubbed along with life and failed to tale control of your destiny.

Everyone always wishes you well, we all offer support, come on man, get a grip and work through life with a more positive attitude, it will get you the career you want but it is down to you to make the effort!
and Bob has not even seen this thread yet, so be warned lol
sometimes we can get ourselves all worried and worked up regarding a problem we have. But when the time comes it's not as bad as we thought you'll probably find that tomorrow won't be as bad as what your imagining it to be. Remain calm and be professional if you've made a mistake then apologise for it and take the advice of whickerman ask for some support. If your feeling really low lean on your girlfriend , that's whats she there for. She's your rock. Take care and let us know how you get on.
I well understand depression and the various ramifications of it, skyep. My sister and her son are no longer depressed: they committed mutual suicide by jumping of a railroad bridge about two years ago. Previous to this they had loads of empathy and sympathy. The solution........I have none: however, I don't think the kid-glove approach has a high success rate.
stewey - All I can say is, I am always always aware whatever response I give, wont leave a person in this kind of situation any worse. I couldn't go to bed on that.
stewey, I am very sorry about your sister and her son. I think I remember reading about it in the paper. Sorry if I seem blunt, this is just my personal view on how I handle things.
for all relatively new members- this particularly member has been posting the same sort of thing for as long as i have been using this site, it does not matter what advice you give him he will not take it or act upon it, he will come back in a few months time and post the same again and round and round it goes, so my advice is, save your fingers this individual is probably killing himself laughing at each answer you all type
regards bob

and cant understand why i would laugh anyway bob though i dont always take advice given it is good to be able to vent my feelings but i i am just going to be laid into then i wont come on again. and in answer to other points perhaps some people are going places or can change i maybe cant and will accept that. sorry ive bothered you all.
stewey.

How was the train driver.

Thats assuming your sister and son jumped in front of a train.

Apologies if i have the wrong end of the storey.

Good advice bob.
Don't worry. these things always seem worse when you imagine what will happen. You will go into work tomorrow and say sorry and it will all be ok. It was a genuine mistake afterall.
Stewey , I don't know what to say love .I am sorry to hear that they were your sister and nephew .xx
steve the "problems" you come out with can be easily solved - someone with steel toecaps giving you a very swift kick up the Archibald and telling you to stop whining
wow have i just had my knuckles rapped by a turkey named bob :)
I can understand where your coming from bobtheturkey , but i'm of the opinion that if someone is asking for help it's not my place to judge. I'll help in any way i can and it's up to the individual how they choose to use that advice.
yes but you may as well type in Arabic louisa because he wont even read your answers, even better find the nearest brick wall and bang your head off it because its likely to have more effect
steve - We can't all make decisions easily about life, some of us take time, may be it will take you a long time to take a step. I have just made a decision to transfer to another campus. I don't feel easy about it, don't know if it's the right decision, I am going against everything that feels safe to me, venturing out of my comfort bubble. I know I am going to feel ill as the transfer gets nearer, but I said to myself, I am still going for it. I am me, change worries me, that is my make - up. I don't expect other people to understand that this little step is quite a big step to me personally, we are all individual.
Be honest steve, i did warn you, who knew Bob would get bored with his CSI re-runs tut : )
Don't have much luck do you steve?

To back bob up further, i recommend a search on steve 'ere, interesting if rather depressing reading.....
