Why is your breath warm when you blow down onto your chin and cool when you blow up towards your forhead?

ha ha good question. I have tried it and (apart from getting daft looks from colleagues) can conclude there is only a slight temp. difference. I would say the differences in distances would be the biggest factor (the longer distance to your forehead means more time to cool down, but more importantly will mix with more cooler ambient air around your face, before reaching the forehad)
I got to admit Darth, i just got very strange looks, and i think your answer is correct.
Neet observation shumphrey. Also, 'breathe' on the back of your hand quite close, its warm; 'blow' on the back of your hand quite close, its cool. Enigma. Unless you know physics [an' i don't] :-)
