On Tuesday I turned 44yrs and I didn't think it would bother me but it does.
I am the youngest of 4 sisters and considered the baby of the family and have always been happy in that role, despite having a 21yr old son of my own.
Getting older is an inevitable fact of life but part of me feels that it shouldn't be happening to me, silly isn't it?!

Hi miffy63,
Don't despair of being 44, it's nothing today. I'm 66 and still think I am fairly young although my daughter is just 2 years younger than you. Every age brings some consolation and if you can find the positive elements, you are halfway to feeling better. I am the youngest of a family of 5 and the only female and regrettably all my brothers have passed away but I'm hanging in there!!!
Enjoy Christmas.

Well done filibuster you've managed to put a smile on my face. It's all so trivial and selfish and you're right - I need to stop wallowing.

Happy birthday for last Tuesday! The problem with ageing is that whilst the years increase we don't feel any different on the inside.
I am a lot older than you, and wish I was your age again. they say you are only as old as you feel, so don't feel old, enjoy life and worry about being old when you are in your 80s. in fact, you have time to take out a 25 year mortgage and still finish paying for it before the governments proposed new retirement age. puts it all in perspective.
