I've posted this in society and culture but wondered if anyone on here can help? There is an author of alot of nursing articles on society and culture whose name is Aru Narayanasamy. I have searched the internet to esblish whether this author is male or female but I have been unable to find this out (I need to know for an essay I'm writing). Can anyone help at all?
Bednobs you are absolutely right but I'm trying to avoid repetition of phases like 'the author says' as I have used this and multiple variations of it throughout my essay and I'm trying to inject some variance. There are instances where use of the pronoun is acceptable and appropriate. For example Smith (2007) states that communication is paramount in efffective nursing care. She goes on to say that.......blah blah.....
you could just as easily say "the authour states that bananas are better than peaches..... they go on state that raspberries were proved to be better than both"
It does get hard to keep finding new ways to word things - it can start sounding far too repetitive! So can understand why you'd want to know just to be able to vary it slightly!
Good luck with the essay!
