In the last 4 months i have had a most itching anus. It is just above the outside of it, (not inside), i have tried creams but they dont work. Keeping it dry with Talcum powder helps, but doesn't solve the problem. Im afraid to speak with my doctor regarding this. I saw online that it could be worms?
I was about to suggest worms, but thought you might think I was having a laugh.
You could have worms, which can be contracted from undercooked pork products, the worms come out whilst you sleep and in turn, you will scratch and possibly reinfect yourself.
You could also have Haemeroids, which can itch as well. You really ought to see your GP, as both are treatable.
You can buy treatment for threadworms over the counter an a Chemist's - Ovex, I think it's called. You take one tablet straight away and a follow up one two weeks later.
Try that and if the problem doesn't go away then you would have to see the doctor.
If you have a family it's worth getting a large pack and treating everybody at the same time, plus change all the bedding, towels and so on.
I had this problem some years ago and a friend gave me some special soap for use after using the loo. Regret I can't remember the name of the product but it did the trick. When I'm away from home (where I have a bidet) I take moist wipes to ensure 100% cleanliness.
I think velvetee is confusing her worms.
Tapeworms (scolex) can be caught from pork/beef products but are very rare in this country. Infected meat is very obviously infected (the eggs are fairly big and visible) and would never get past the abbatoir.
Thread worms are very common. If you wear dark undies/jimjams you should be able to see any escapees as they look like tiny threads of white cotton.
Tapeworms can grow up to 20 METRES in length so I don't think for a minute you have them.
Try washing in warm water with some dissolved salt in. It may sting but never mind. Then dry and put some Tea Tree Oil on with cotton wool. This has a strong smell but it seems to cure a lot of things. Good luck !
