I'm in my third nearly fourth week without a cigarette, but I'm wondering if roll-ups are an easier option than fags...I'm grasping at straws here...maybe I'll smoke some straw...someone say yes and help me out with these "withdrawal" symptoms. Ta Muchly.

I've heard snuff is quite good.
you have quit for a month, why throw it away on a roll up?

Hi tigger, snuff?...can you smoke it?...sorry for the cheap gag, but it aint the same as taking a drag from a fag or that kind of thing.

And oh, I forgot to say, I'm on 24 hour patches, the Niquit?? whatever they are.

woodelf, I've never smoked so can't be very helpful, but you've nearly managed 4 weeks.. bloody well done! don't go back or one day you'll be starting all over again.

you know it makes sense.. don't do it!

so why do you want to start again? having a bad day? feeling bored?
Don't give up now, If your finding it that hard, and thats very understandable, go to a Chemist and buy some gums or another anti-smoking aid, they do work,

I stopped a couple of years ago, still chew the gums, but its cheaper than cigarettes, and I like the taste.

Can't now stand the smell of cigaretttes.

For what it's worth, after I gave up the dreaded weed I was still having "pangs" years later.

The hardest thing I've ever achieved and I count myself very lucky to have kicked it altogether. But I realise how farquharring difficult it is. A lot easier to say than to do.

Go and eat a shed load of cherry tomatoes. They have a chemical in them that helps with withdrawl symptoms.
Woodelf - You’ve gone four weeks without a fag, I’m sure you have enough will-power to go another four week and another four weeks and... It's all in your mind. Continue to be strong.

I know it makes sense sara and yes cazzz, people keep saying I'll feel better soon, but how long is soon?
sara says she doesn't smoke, but do you cazzz and tigger or anyone out there who has and has conquered it?

can I ask why you decided to give up?
yes I quit 12 years ago, it is hard and yes you do get pangs but over time they get less and less. you have to try to remember the reasons you wanted to quit and keep them in mind
yep i have i suppose i found orange juice a great saviour, so would asume that tomatoes do also must be the acid content!!!
PLEASE, don't ever think you can control it, by maybe having the odd one or two here and there. Before you know it, it's habit again.

I still get pangs, but I always have a nicotine gum handy, and they are great cos you get an instant hit.
When I gave up I found that chewing gum was effective - not the nicotine substitute stuff, just ordinary chewing gum. It keeps your mouth occupied!

Incidentally, my intake of sweets/chocolate increased at that time. I don't know why, but fairly recently I have gone off chocolate completely.
if you succumb now, all that hard work you put in over the last 4 weeks will be for nothing. you will go right back to square one.... ask yourself if you want to go through those 4 weeks again, for just one moment of weakness.? tomorrow is another day, you just gotta get through this day ....... so go clean your teeth and go to bed.

sara, i gave up cos my partner's blouses were becoming stained and smelly. What gum is it lonnie? Nice spelling there paraffin...smile. Cherry tomatoes sasha?...I'll think about that. And I aint had a bad day or bored, it's just......well, those who've given up will know!
Dont give in now woodelf. How about a Nicoretter Inhaler? You can get loads of things from your gp. If I gave up you can! You dont need that yukky weed with all those chemicals and if you start on roll ups you'll undo the good work you've done in the last month.
