It was very rare for women in my mother's generation to learn to drive, as it was always their husbands that drove the car.
I taught my son to drive very successfully. He only had a few proper lessons before taking his test and passing.
I still really don't think you can tar us all with one brush.
I never look upon myself as being a Woman driver - I look upon myself as being a driver who happens to be a Woman!
In 32 years of driving, I've never had an accident or received a speeding ticket. The latter is probably down to pure luck, as I have been accused of driving too fast - but that is usually by dawdlers! I think of myself as an excellent, courteous driver. Parking is my forte & I have helped many a sad person into their parking space, when they have been ready to give up!
no, men and women are equally likely to be bad drivers. the reasons for insurance companies offering lower premiums to women is not because men are better drivers, but because womens claims are smaller the vast majority of the time - possibly attributed to timidity whilst driving, which could be the source of your question. women & men who drive badly, drive badly differently to each other
wish me luck guys, first driving lesson on monday!
