I know which have the most insurance claims.
calm down!

The only times women should be allowed to drive on the roads are : 1) when they have a drunken bloke as a passenger.

                 2) when they have a boot full of shopping.

I shall now sit back and wallow in the warm glow of satisfaction that a good wind-up on a Friday gives one!!!

Sorry soul sistas, but we are. I used to get mad at my husband for being "sexist" or whatever, but then whenever someone would do something completely ridiculous on the road - be it stopping at every intersection looking at the road names or rear-ending the person in front at the red light - I would look and it actually was a woman. Nothing to do with serious wrecks, just idiotic driving habits. My mother in law is also a mess, I don't even know how she got her license in the first place! Sure she always goes atleast 10 mph under the speed limit, but like a lot of women she just has no freaking clue what she's doing. Also, we're pretty bad with directions. There's a saying about how if you're ver lost, ask a woman then do the opposite. That doesn't mean we're any less valuable as people, does it?

I think that some elderly women really are the worse drivers about, but I think that's something to do with learning to drive when they were older, because, quite honestly, it is only fairly recent times that women have learned to drive.  It was very rare for women in my mother's generation to learn to drive, as it was always their husbands that drove the car.

I taught my son to drive very successfully.  He only had a few proper lessons before taking his test and passing.

I still really don't think you can tar us all with one brush.

we were only talking about this at school the other day, my teacher said that guys are the worest and thats why women have differnt insurance companys made for women. they said that women take more care even if they do go abit slow! guys are just fast apanrely thats what we were told and came up with in our lesson! xx

Mr Luva, i think women are definetely the worst drivers (not including myself of course) whenever you see a car doing some crazy manouevre in front of you you can guarantee it will be one of these middle aged women who passed their test in the 70's, either that or it's a 19 year old on her mobile.

I never look upon myself as being a Woman driver - I look upon myself as being a driver who happens to be a Woman!

In 32 years of driving, I've never had an accident or received a speeding ticket. The latter is probably down to pure luck, as I have been accused of driving too fast - but that is usually by dawdlers! I think of myself as an excellent, courteous driver. Parking is my forte & I have helped many a sad person into their parking space, when they have been ready to give up!

Excellent driver sounds very smug - but I think I am compared to some of the nutters/dwardlers you see on the road today!
Yinzer your mother inlaw probably does not have a license, either that or she got it in  a cerial box.

no, men and women are equally likely to be bad drivers. the reasons for insurance companies offering lower premiums to women is not because men are better drivers, but because womens claims are smaller the vast majority of the time - possibly attributed to timidity whilst driving, which could be the source of your question. women & men who drive badly, drive badly differently to each other

wish me luck guys, first driving lesson on monday!

Good luck magicdice - here's wishing you many years of safe, happy motoring!
